Amazon Prime Prepares for The Purge This September

Thriller fans, take note: A television version of The Purge will hit Amazon Prime this September!

Following The First Purge movie this summer, The Purge series is based on Blumhouse Productions' hit franchise - and set in the same universe. The show follows several seemingly unrelated, conflicted characters as they prepare for a 12-hour period when all crime - including murder - is legal.

Film creator James DeMonaco serves as writer and executive producer, while a host of familiar talent also contributes: Thomas Kelly (Copper, The Get Down) has been tapped as the showrunner, while Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning director of USA's Unsolved: The Murders Of Tupac And The Notorious B.I.G., Anthony Hemingway, will direct and executive produce the premiere episode.

The Purge will premiere Wednesday, September 5 on Amazon Prime in the UK with subsequent episodes hitting your Prime Video account each Wednesday.
