The Sci-fi channel & the coalition for the freedom of information have turned to the legal system to chase UFOs. The team, who have been fired up by the Kecksburg incident from 1965 have requested de-classified information from NASA and the department of defense, but instead have only received a solemn silence. It is hoped that legal proceedings will force the truth into the light, and perhaps become the first publicly available proof of extra terrestrial life. It had been stated originally that the fireball spotted in the skies above Kecksburg in 1965 was actually a Russian probe, but this theory has been refuted by a top orbital debris scientist at the NASA Johnson space center. In fact, there were no known man made items "falling to the ground" from any country at the time.

Sci-fi theorists have searched long and hard for proof of alien life and its no surprise that the Government agencies have remained tight lipped on the subject. Their policy of "across the board silence" may be coming to an end if the courts have their way. Even the cynics have agreed that the agencies of America are less than forthcoming with information that should be publicly available, although they attribute the policy of keeping silent to the agencies being prepared for any eventuality, to the extent that if a real UFO were to be seen in the skies, it wouldn't be out of place for them to deny such an event occurred, whereas if they were forthcoming with hoaxes and easily explained phenomena, it would draw more attention to the unexplained, and give the Alien encounter believing community more credibility.
