James (Jimmy) Doohan Sadly Passes Away

Fox News reports have given us the sad news that actor James Doohan, Scotty from the original Trek series, passed away July 20th of natural causes. The actor has been in poor health for some time and retired earlier this year from doing personal appearances.

With Doohan's passing, the surviving original Star Trek stars include: Shatner (Kirk), Nimoy (Spock), Nichols (Uhura), Takei (Sulu), Koenig (Chekov). Creator Gene Roddenberry died in 1991.
