Dracula Bites Broadway!

Horror fans visiting New York after August may want to check out a musical version of the Bram Stoker horror classic. It will open Aug. 5 at Broadway's Belasco Theatre. Casting will be announced shortly.

The show, which will be called "Dracula, The Musical," has a score by Frank Wildhorn and Don Black. Wildhorn wrote the music for "Jekyll & Hyde" and "The Scarlet Pimpernel," and Black did the lyrics for shows such as "Sunset Boulevard" and "Aspects of Love."

The book for the musical is by Christopher Hampton, author of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses." The director is Des McAnuff, who also directed "Big River" and "The Who's Tommy" on Broadway.

Preview performances begin July 12.
