Sci-Fi Fanatics Name The Genre's Sexiest Stars

Summer Glau has been crowned the sexiest babe in Sci-Fi land — that’s the verdict of a new social media poll, voted for by Sci-Fi fans that have identified the genre’s most desirable boys and girls.

The survey was commissioned by TV channel Syfy to celebrate the launch of fantasy series Lost Girl which launches on Thursday 1st September at 10pm. It asked fans on Twitter to vote to determine Sci-Fi’s favourite stars. The new series boasts it’s very own feisty temptress, Bo (Anna Silk) - soon to be a sure favourite herself — as a Succubus who drains humans of their sexual energy through kissing before leaving them for dead. However Bo doesn’t want to be evil, and is struggling to learn to handle her power when she finds other members of her obscure race which could be the key to her living a normal life. With spirited sidekick Kenzie by her side, they struggle to live in what has suddenly become a dangerous world — the biggest danger being from Bo’s own kind.

Sexy Sci-Fi stalwarts got the thumbs up from red blooded males — Summer Glau has featured in a number of Sci-Fi favourites such as Firefly and Dollhouse, as well as playing the lead in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Other genre veterans hit the top ten such as Eliza Dushku who started alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in This Boy’s Life but has more recently been in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Joss Whedon’s other TV project, Dollhouse.

Buffy can still give more recent contenders a run for their money, since Dushku isn’t the only star from the show to feature high in the poll. Sarah Michelle Gellar is number three in the list, despite the series finishing eight years ago. The deliciously seductive Morena Baccarin is at number 8, remembered for her turn as the alien leader Anna in the much-missed remake of V. Natalie Portman, a favourite with Sci-Fi fans following her turn as Queen Padme Amidala in Star Wars: Episodes 1, 2 & 3, rounded up the final countdown in tenth place.

The hunks category also provided a delicious countdown to send temperatures racing. Supernatural monopolises the top three spots with Jenson Ackles getting over half the vote, and co-star Jared Padalecki, who plays his brother, following behind. Mischa Collins who plays angel Castiel, concludes the trio.

A trio of film stars populate the top ten, being Nathan Fillion from cult film Serenity, the sequel to TV series Firefly, Robert Downey Jnr (Iron Man) and Hugh Jackman (X-Men). Zach Quinto did what none of the Heroes ladies could do, and made the top ten at number 9.
