Space, The Final Frontier - A Virgin Ride That Will Take You To The Moon

Captains log, Stardate Monday 27th September 2004, Earlier today, Richard Branson announced his "Out of this world" plans to take people, Out of this world.

Commercial space flights have been talked about over recent years, but the dream came one step closer today with plans, revealed by Branson, to launch commercial space flights over the next few years.

In true pioneering fashion, the first vessel to begin construction next year, will be the VSS Enterprise. The concept, and the name of the first "Virgin Space Ship" will greatly appeal to fans of the Star trek series which over the years has shown Archer, Kirk and Picard as regular captains. While it is unlikely that the virgin ship will be captained by a french, balding captain with an artificial heart and a penchant for archaeology, and more unlikely that the science officer will have long pointy ears and a obsessive fascination with logic, there is no doubt the trip will be a journey of a lifetime.

Branson's "Virgin Galactic" company hopes to make space travel a possibility to all countries, while the entire project is still in the planning stage, many will rejoice to hear that there are currently no plans to allow wesley crusher onto the bridge, let alone giving him access to helm controls.
