Lord Of The Rings Wins Orange Film Of The Year (Includes Internet Exclusive Red Carpet Footage!)

The biggest night in the British film calendar, the Orange British Academy Film Awards, attracted some of the leading names from the big screen to London’s Leicester Square.

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King scooped the Orange Film of the Year prize. The prestigious award is the only BAFTA category voted for by the general public and was welcomed by director Peter Jackson for the third year running.

He said: "I am grateful to the fans for honouring our film with the Orange Film of the Year award. It's particularly rewarding that our fans have been so loyal throughout all three films. I am incredibly proud of the work done by our cast and crew, and consequently thrilled that their contributions have been recognised for a third year in a row."

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King also picked up a further four awards, including Best Film and Best Cinematography. The video also features stars who attended the awards, including Tim Burton (Nominated Best Director), Bill Nighy (Winner Best Supporting Actor), Anne Reid (Nominated Best Actress), Emma Thompson (Nominated Best Supporting Actress) and Jon Voight giving their views on why the Orange British Academy of Film Awards is such a great occasion to be associated with.

Other winners of note on the night were, girl of the moment Scarlett Johansson who picked up Best Actress for her role in Lost in Translation, whilst her co-star Bill Murray, picked up the Best Actor award for his character in the same film.

Bill Nighy won Best Actor In A Supporting Role, for his portrayal of Billy Mac in the smash hit romantic comedy Love Actually, whilst Renee Zellweger won Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her part in Civil War epic Cold Mountain.
