Collectormania Midlands: Meet Film & TV Stars In Coventry!
For more than a decade, Showmasters have been giving fans a chance to meet film and tv stars from Hollywood and the UK in person! Now they are bringing a little piece of tinsletown to Coventry with Collectormania Midlands (www.collectormaniamidlands.com) on 1st and 2nd March 2008 at the Ricoh Arena.
Celebrity guests already confirmed include Leonard Roberts a.k.a. D.L. Hawkins in hit US show Heroes and Forrest Gates in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; George Takei, Star Trek's Mr. Sulu, and recently returned to our screens as Kaito Nakamura in Heroes; Ernie Hudson, better known as Winstone Zeddemore in the classic Ghostbuster movies; horror super-villain Freddy Krueger played by Robert Englund; Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis, Star Trek: The Next Generation's Commander Data and Counsellor Troi; James Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen aka Le Chiffre in Casino Royale; Jeremy Bulloch, Star Wars' ruthless bounty hunter Boba Fett; cult movie action hero Bruce Campbell; Doctor Who stars Colin Baker (the Doctor), Nicholas Courtney (the Brigadier), Frazer Hines (second Doctor companion, Jamie McCrimmon) and Terry Molloy (Davros, creator of the Daleks); Morena Baccarin, Inara in hit show Firefly and movie Serenity, and Adria in television's Stargate SG-1; and Ian Whyte, the Predator out of Alien vs. Predator 1 and 2. And with even more exciting guest stars due to be announced in the coming weeks there will be something for everyone!
As well as meeting these stars and getting their autographs, fans can have professionally taken photographs of them posing with the celebrities and hear them talk on stage about their careers and experiences working in front of the camera. And as well as the chance to meet the stars there will also be hundreds of different stalls selling merchandise from the latest action figure and collectible card game, to vintage movie posters and comics, and displays including the yellow "Bumblebee" Camaro as seen in Transformers The Movie.
The show runs Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm, with admission after 11am only £5 for adults and £3 for kids under 12; early bird admission before 11am is £10. Further details of the show are available on the website www.collectormaniamidlands.com or by calling Showmasters on 01234 752485.
